[Puzzle “Naughty Balls”]

This puzzle is easy to make from marbles for a real tenin. You will need six balls, not necessarily new and intact. The two balls are cut into two parts (figure top right), from which the body is glued together. The four other balls have a design of six circles in four colors, as on figure. And these balls are placed in the body (in a complete row).
The puzzle consists of two tasks:

  1. Arrange the balls so that all four colors are on the top and bottom, and on the sides there are two identical colors not so close together.

  2. Arrange the balls so that, as in task 1, you get all four colors on top and bottom, and two identical colors on the sides.
By rotating one ball around a circular axis, we get 4 options for its appearance. Since there can be any of six colored circles on top, the number of possible positions of the ball is 24. For four balls, the number of colors is 24³ = 331,776. Finding solutions to the puzzles is very difficult. You can be proud if you spend no more than 15 minutes on the solution.
