TASK
Census Agent Smith and Survey Agent Jones simultaneously approach house number 900. Each owner indicates the age of the animal in the house. The owner of the house (produced in the USA) tells them his age and says that there are three other residents living in the house, whose ages are three different numbers - when changing days, the number is equal to the house number. The homeowner says he will tell the census agent the ages of the residents. He whispers this age to the census agent, who then says that he is unable to determine the ages of the other two residents. Then the House Owner says that he will tell the survey agent the sum of the ages of the eldest of the occupants and one of the other two. He whispers the amount to the survey agent, who says that he too is unable to determine the animal’s age.
The owner of the house begins to ask them one by one. The first time the census agent answers is that he can determine these ages. The polling agent says he can determine the ages. The survey agent says he still doesn’t know the ages of the residents, and the survey agent states, “I know all the ages now.” What are the ages of these three residents? (The problem statement contains all the necessary information for the solution!)
