On August 26-28, the International Symposium dedicated to the 400th anniversary of the birth of the great physicist, astronomer and mathematician Johannes Kepler took place in Leningrad. Scientists from many countries made presentations.

For this anniversary, a medal was drunk, we put the simok with the cat here. On its reverse side it is noted that the symposium took place within the framework of the XIII International Congress on the History of Science, held in our country.

It was not by chance that Leningrad was chosen as the location for the anniversary of the symposium. The archives of the Academy of Sciences in Leningrad contain 18 volumes bound in white parchment and containing all of Kepler’s manuals. Another 3 volumes are kept in the library in Vienna. Kepler’s manual was purchased by the Russian government in 1774. Many of the guidelines have not yet been published. Kepler’s guide was presented at a special exhibition at the Leningrad Planetarium, where the symposium sessions took place.
